Every year, like clockwork, I declare that I am finally going to attend Coachella. And every year, like clockwork, I flake out on some friends and don’t make the trip to Indio.
But this year, I was ready to embrace every crazy rumor—Neutral Milk Hotel reuniting to play with My Bloody Valentine who is backing the reformed The Smiths—and finally attend the festival.
Then I saw the list of performers.
Eh.
I mean, I’d love to see The Verve and Portishead, but crossing state lines and baking in the desert heat doesn’t really make for prime concert going conditions.
The full lineup is after the jump, you can read it while you mellow out with this great song…

Oh come on, you aren't STOKED to see ROGER WATERS and JACK JOHNSON?!?!?!?!
Sure, the headliner lineup is a bit anti-climactic in comparison to last year... but come on, with great new sounds like Battles, Chromeo, Justice, Akron/Family, St. Vincent, M.I.A., Hot Chip, Animal Collective, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Booka shade, and Krafterk.
This with the amazing art (minus the 8 doller beers).
I give it two thumbs up.
Really? You'd pay $269 for tix + $55 for camping per person + ticketmaster service fees on both entrance and camping + gas money to california to fry in a desert for that line up? Really? I'm not admitting there aren't good things to see but for that much money you'd better blow my fucking mind. If I wanted to see Dark Side of the Moon that bad I'd rent the DVD. I wish a sneaker wave would catch Jack Johnson when he wasn't looking.

This is one of the most underwhelming line-ups out of Coachella in years. Considering the Cure is set to headline Sasquatch I think I'd rather go to the beautiful gorge than the sweltering desert as well.
