Photography Jamie Lidell at Berbati’s, Tuesday May 27 2008

Our own Minh Tran was at the Jamie Lidell show last night and took some great photos. Check ‘em out! Lidell rocked a gold lame blazer, nerd glasses, and some swanky seersucker pants, all while singing sweet cosmic soul music.

Wait, did dude have a full band?! I need to know, people, give me some answers here. I mean, it fits with the vibe of the new album, but damn. The whole magic of Jamie Lidell live was watching him be the ultimate one man band.

Rob, Jamie did indeed roll with a band for this show, 4-piece to be specific(keys, drums, guitar/bass and horns). They are largely undocumented in my photos mostly because I broke my wide angle lens. Having seen him the last time he rolled through Berbati's (my first concert in Portland ever) and this time, I want to assure you that in know did it dilute the kick-assedness of his live proceedings. He did plenty of solo fun along with lots of band stuff. There's no way anyone left that show disappointed.

Once again, fantastic photos! I was at the show on 5/28 and recorded the event. It was great! Check out my blog to listen to some samples and let me know what you think! (I'll have the downloads up soon if anyone is interested.)

And trust me, Rob. The band+Jamie worked!
