Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - Tonight!

As you may know, genteel nu-bluegrasser Alison Krauss has teamed up with golden god Robert Plant for what initially seems to be a puzzling pairing; their record Raising Sand is an amble through well-worn folk songs by the likes of the Everly Brothers, Tom Waits, and Townes Van Zandt. They're hitting town tonight, at the magically-titled "Theater in the Clouds," which is actually the Rose Garden chopped into a smaller-sized wedge. (No actual clouds, sadly.) Their recent tour setlists include Zep faves like "When the Levee Breaks," "Black Dog," and "Hey Hey What Can I Do," but I imagine there will be little of the sword-and-sorcery epics for which Zeppelin is well known. It's also unlikely that Plant will be shrieking "Does anybody remember laughter???" mid-song, but with T-Bone Burnett at the helm of their backing band, expect an O Brother-type exploration of traditionally minded, laid-back folktelling.
As for me, I'm holding out for the tour that pairs master of the occult Jimmy Page with sunshine-y Jesus sensation Amy Grant.
