News The Prids in Serious Van Accident

One of Portland's finest bands, the dark-pop outfit The Prids were involved in a very serious van accident outside of Fresno, CA. A MySpace bulletin posted on Friday the 20th read:
We rolled the van - Sorry LA
We won't be making it. We're in a hospital in Fresno
Everything and everyone is FUCKED.
The band also posted a few photos from the accident, including the one above, and an image that appears to be singer/guitarist David Frederickson on a stretcher. A friend of the band also emailed to tell us that the band's van rolled "several times" and "David was most seriously hurt." After that tragic 2003 Exploding Hearts van crash, news like this is always pretty devastating.
We'll let you know if we can find out any more news about the accident, Frederickson's condition, and any upcoming benefits for the band.
11:13 am update from a friend of the band, Marshal Serna:
Our dear friends The Prids - David, Mistina, Joey and Maile - and two of their significant others - Kristin and Chris - were in a serious accident early Sunday evening while en route to Los Angeles on tour. A tire blew, they lost control of the van and it rolled several times. David was airlifted from the scene of the crash, he suffered a broken collar bone, broken ribs and has 6 staples in his head. Chris broke his arm, and they are waiting for MRI results to determine if he's sustained a spinal injury. Maile has a broken vertebra and toe and a severe cut with stitches on her knee. Joey broke ribs, Mistina suffered a concussion, and as far as I know Kristin is in similar shape. As of late tonight, everyone but Chris has been released from the hospital, and they are staying at a hotel in Fresno.A special paypal account has been set up to help out and donate directly to The Prids. And the recent update (9:30 this morning) is that Chris is out of the hospital but David went back in this morning vomiting blood. He's on a morphine drip and stable.
