The Rumble Strips - "Girls and Boys in Love"
It's like Dexy's Midnight Runners never left! Frolicking in the mud never looked so fun. The Rumble Strips are on a big label (Island) and have popped up on film soundtracks already (Run Fat Boy Run), and maybe the jangly, acoustic shuffle is a little too Kooks-y for your taste, but everything here--melody, piano, sax, terrific vocal--works for me. Hope you dig it, too. Meanwhile, I'll be playing another song (which I like even better) on my Your Radio Sucks podcast tomorrow, so listen in.
The Rumble Strips play the Doug Fir on October 18. I've already marked my calendar.
