News Blitzen Trapper Gets Choke(d)

We've already shown our excitement for Blitzen Trapper's forthcoming new album, Furr, and now the word is that the local band was handpicked to appear on the soundtrack to Choke. They'll contribute an unreleased song, "Wicked," joining such acts on the film's soundtrack as Fiery Furnaces, Death Cab, plus their is a Doors cover (ugh) and a "rare" version of the Buzzcocks' "Orgasm Addict" (as sung by their original vocalist Howard Devoto) as well.

Based on the Chuck Palahniuk book, the film (view the NSFW trailer here) will hit theaters September 26th, while the soundtrack hits store shelves three days earlier. Actor, director and screen writer (OMG! Triple threat!) Clark Gregg talks about Blitzen Trapper in the soundtrack's press release:

We listened to a lot of Blitzen Trapper during the crazed five-week summer shoot. It just seemed to fit with spending your 18-hour days in a sweltering mental hospital. They've got some excellent chaos going on.

Excellent chaos indeed.

He who lives in emo houses should not cast stones at The Doors.

Or something like that, to the effect of, The Doors are a great band and I don't understand why it became cool not to like them.

Come on now, people! Everyone, but everyone knows that Blitzen Trapper's making totally timeless music, not to be forgotten upon the shitty scrap heap of mediocre indie rock, unlike the (ugh) Doors.
