P4K reports that the Decemberists have launched a singles series on both digital and vinyl formats. Cassingles are not welcome here.
The singles--titled Always the Bridesmaid: A Singles Series-- will be released digitally by mom & pop label Capitol Records, and on vinyl by local multi-national conglomerate Jealous Butcher Records (I think I got that right) and the band's own Y.A.B.B. Records imprint. Anyone know what "Y.A.B.B." means?
The details:
Volume One (out October 14th):
"Valerie Plame"
"O New England"
Volume Two (out November 4th):
"Days of Elaine"
"Days of Elaine [Long]"
Volume Three (out December 2nd):
"Record Year"
"Raincoat Song"
Once we hear more we'll let you know.
9:26am update:
We heard more! As of this morning, the LPs can be pre-ordered from the band, and the first orders will come on fancy colored vinyl. Speaking of, the vinyl will be 12-inch LPs, not the usual 7-inch single, or the very rare, record player breaking, 19-inch LP. I wish.

God, watching D die killed me. Not as much as my boy Wallace, but still....
Oh, and it's gotta stand for Youth and Beauty Brigade, right?
