Contest Win Tickets to CSS!!!

The greatest thing to emerge from Brazil since Knockout Ned and this video of California's governor, CSS roll through town this Friday at the Roseland, alongside the tappa-tappa-tappa dance pop of Tilly & The Wall, and the bbroken kkeyboard ddisco-ppunk of SSion.

But the stars here are headliners Cansei de Ser Sexy, riding high on their latest full-length Donkey. The same band that once offered up "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above" (Alternate title: "Let's Play Footbag and Listen to G.Love") continue forward with their goal to twist and manipulate pop/dance/whatever music into something that is entirely their own. But enough about all that, let's giveaway a pair of tickets to witness CSS in action this Friday.

To win these tickets all you have to do is comment below and explain why you (and a guest) deserve to attend this show for free. The winning comment by tomorrow at 11am will win their way into the show, the losing comments will receive a hearty pat on the back and some positive words of encouragement.

Something like this: 'Atta boy, slugger, you'll get 'em next time, champ. Now let's go to Pizza Hut, Pizzones on me!

I deserve to win these tickets because I fucking hate the Roseland. What a shitty venue. Why can't the booker for the Roseland go work at good venue?

And also because the girl and I are hosting a Rock Band party that night anyways. That's why I deserve the tickets.

Please let me win tickets to the show tonight. I am broke and really like to dance. And I have nothing against the Roseland, I actually really like seeing shows there. So, I would appreciate the free tickets the most and take a friend that would appreciate them as well. Thank you!

my best friend erika just moved away to barcelona, spain (for at least 3 years) a few days ago. she is a huge CSS fan and always insisted that i needed to see them live with her. judging from her description of their shows, they sounds pretty amazing. unfortunately erika flew out of portland on saturday.... so she won't be able to attend. if anything, this will make me feel like she isn't on the other side of the planet.... at least for a night.

Starting next week I will be at school 3 days a week 8am-7pm, work 4 days a week 9am-7pm. I NEED a fun show before crazy comes along. My Fiancee teaches middle school and you know how THAT is. After a few weeks of getting settled with the kids on the edge of puberty...she could use a night out to!
Besides I love CSS and supported the work from the band before they got more exposure on college radio.

I'm already booked Friday and am also not into the Roseland, but selling the tickets would help me in my quest to pay rent and eat food.

I traveled all the way back to Jersey City, NJ to see CSS play All Points West. Now a little over a month later I need a fix, and I sure as hell can't wait until Austin City Limits to see them again, so please please help a girl out and give me my damned CSS fix!!!

I deserve these tickets because even though I am currently "getting paid for being for awesome" as I like to call it (which means I am a musician on unemployment!), that may cover the bills, but not the fun. Plus there are a couple of sexy ladies out there I have had my eye on and I would like to ask one out on a date, and having free concert tickets would make it look like I have money.
I love CSS and I am poor and need to get laid. Help a sista out!

When I first heard CSS I practically peed myself. I jones for any band that makes music that strays from the norm. Their first CD was in constant rotation on my ipod and every mixed cd in my car. Because music really is my hot hot sex.

I saw them play at the Doug Fir and the sounds went out during "Alala" which broke my heart because it is probably my favorite song of theirs besides Meeting Paris Hilton. Seeing them at the Roseland would be much better and I'm sure the sound wouldn't go out... so perhaps I can hear all of Alala in it's true form. And I can hear all their amazing new songs. Left Behind, Rat is Dead, Jager Yoga and my personal favorite "I Fly." Can't go wrong with a song about turning into a fly and basically stalking people.

I really wanted to pay for tickets for this show but couldn't afford it so winning them would make my day perhaps my whole year.

I don't deserve them, I just want them. Why? When I last saw CSS at the Doug Fir, my foot was broke, so I pretty much stood in one spot, not dancing. This didn't stop the large, obliterated douche bag behind me from slamming into me every few minutes, insisting I dance too when I turned to give him stink eye and asking him to stop dry humping me. I wanted to dance. Bad. If I were to get these tickets, I will dance. I want to be the douche bag this time...

If I saw a small baby left on the corner of 10th and Burnside, I would pick it up and instantly feed it a cookie. After this I would immediately start raising the baby to become the worlds best shredder ever. I would train him by making him learn how to play every Meat Loaf and Judas Priest song ever made. Then at the ripe age of 15 N a half I would send him out on his journey to become a bigger rock star than Hannah Montana. He will succeed. This is exactly why I deserve tickets.

I deserve the tickets because, I am the biggest electronic music JUNKIE... EVA! I am going to school for Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Portland, and as a full time college student/part-time worker,I never have money for these kinds of things.

I feel that my passion for Electronic Music should let me get these tickets.I am a funny girl, who is upbeat 24/7 and deserves a little special treatment once in a while,because as a full time student, my schedule is busy,hectic,and frustrating. My fiance lives in a whole different state, and I really want to have something fun happen in my year, of living here in Portland Oregon. I am open to new venues, always trying to see the latest concerts, and want to get a complete feel for Portland Oregon's electronic/dance music scene.

No but really, I love what i do, and i do what i love,and that is: designing clothes, exploring portland, and listening to some fucking AMAZING electronic music!!!!!!

I have abso-fucking-lutely no idea who in God's name this band is, so it would be a learning experience, also if you give them to me I will go in my underwear carrying a fencing sword and a hat with a propeller on it. I would need a sexy clown as a date though, could you arrange such? peace mofos

I last saw Ssion in 2002 in Rochester, NY. I've been waiting six years for them to come back to a city I'm in. They almost never tour! They were wearing animal costumes, and the lion pulled a giant snake out of their gaping lion vagina! So while the rest of these motherfuckers are gonna show up for CSS and maybe Tilly, you can count on me to be 100% excited to see the whole show.

I deserve to win the tickets because I am a devout follower of CSS. I, in fact, am completely celibate unless Death From Above is playing. Sadly, I don't own any Death From Above, so I am thankful for Pandora.

I should get these muthas because I am that guy that "saw them before they were cool" (at Dantes).

AND.... when I come pick up my free tickets I will either just "happen" to have a box of voodoo doughnuts that I will "accidentally" leave behind or I will bust through the doors of The Mercury HQ and yell "who's dick do I gotta suck to get my CSS tickets around here?"

I have always wanted to say that.

I deserve these tickets because I too am tired of being sexy. I dumped my boyfriend of 2 years 3 weeks ago and he is so obsessed with me and convincing me that we are meant to be together that he is holding my house hostage, the house THAT I FUCKING OWN, and thus I am stuck sleeping on friends' couches (thank god for good friends) while he lives it up at my house until the court will let me have the sheriff forcibly remove him. I have to take him to court to get the selfish bastard to leave. All the while I somehow radiate the single vibe and I get hit on at Tube with the likes of "Do you want to go to the bathroom with me?" Are you fucking kidding me? That is why I, too am "cansada de ser sexy" (I say it in Spanish because I don't speak Portuguese but I think it's the same thing in Spanish, which I do speak) and REALLY want to go to this show!
