Sad news: Mitch Mitchell, the last surviving member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, was found dead in his Portland hotel room today. On tour with the "Experience Hendrix Tour," which was at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall this past Friday, Mitchell's body was found in his room at the Benson.

From Pollstar:

Sgt. Brian Schmautz, a Portland police spokesman, told the Oregonian that an employee at the upscale Benson Hotel called police after discovering Mitchell's body. "It was natural causes," Schmautz said, "so we weren't involved beyond that."
