Thorns Of Life Play Brooklyn House Party, Tease West Coasters

Posted by Ryan J. Prado on Mon, Dec 1, 2008 at 2:15 PM

End Hits Blog Guru Ezra Caraeff reported a couple weeks ago on the developing news (and relative secrecy) of supergroup Thorns of Life, featuring ex-Jawbreaker, ex-Jets to Brazil, current late 20s music journalists' (male or female) wet dream Blake Schwarzenbach, and Pinhead Gunpowder drummer Aaron Cometbus. At the time, there was no indication at all of what they might sound like, only a stoic hope that something amazing could be bred from such capable musical visionaries.
For the skeptical, we give you this poor-audio house show footage of Thorns of Life in Brooklyn. Stripped down punk rock?! In a house?! With people sluggin' Olympia?! Sounds like a Tuesday night in Chico, California! I know I just moved to Portland, but I think I hear Brooklyn calling my name now...

Thank god it's not the one next door to my house.

If that "visionary" from the overrated Jawbreaker is such a tremendous artist, why doesn't he try something new, for fuck's sake.
