Regarding his brief stint at Sony Records:
“They would have these meetings where they would say: ‘Hey, what do you think about this new Maroon 5 song? What about the video?’ And they would joke about how awful the songs were, and how the guys were singing out of tune and how formulaic it was and blah, blah, blah, and when they were finished joking they’d put together a two-, three-million-dollar budget to promote the next video.”
