You Can't See Chairlift This Time

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Tue, Dec 9, 2008 at 11:23 AM

Well, the Vampire Weekend show this Friday at the Crystal Ballroom is sold out, which ordinarily wouldn't be any reason for huge disappointment, except that Chairlift has been added to the bill. The New York band will be playing their first show in Portland in one of its larger venues for a sold-out crowd, none of whom bought tickets to see them. Hopefully they'll come back to Portland soon. In the meantime, check out Chairlift's video for "Planet Health," a fine, entrancing tune that feels like the theme from some imaginary prom for the Land of the Lotus Eaters Polytechnic High's graduating class. If you don't already have tickets to the Vampy Weak-ends, you're shit out of luck for this one (as am I), but we'll eagerly await their return... hopefully they'll play their own show!

Chairlift plays at Crystal Ballroom Fri Dec 12, opening for Vampire Weekend. Sold out!

Scalper/extra tickets market was soft at Franz Ferdinand. Considering VW just played here three months ago I would think that this will be the same
