An enigmatic force of duct tape and Devo, the Epoxies were hands down one of Portland's greatest live acts. Onstage, few bands could step to their explosive mass of manic new wave redux and short doses of punk rock. Yet sadly, the band is no more. I don't remember a formal announcement being made, but now the head Epoxite, Roxy Epoxy, is ready to share her debut solo recording with the world.
Out March 10th on Metropolis Records—the label behind the Epoxies' final release, the excellent My New World EP—Roxy's debut is titled Band-Aids On Bullet Holes and features a brand new backing band, fittingly titled the Rebound.
I should cut-and-paste something from the press release right here:
"I think The Rebound are a bit more introspective than The Epoxies," explains Roxy. "The music is more intricate and is a bit more rock than pop. When the Epoxies broke up, I had a ton of material at different states of completion and finally had the time to dig into it. I had wanted to head in a slightly different direction for a while. This is the result."

Roxy Epoxy & the Rebound - "Dependence Leads Your Forture"
Epoxy has announced a series of shows around the album's release, and while they feature such prime rock and roll destinations as Citrus Heights, CA and Mesa, AZ, there is absolutely no Portland show listed. Yet.
