The Gaslight Anthem Rock Letterman

Posted by Rob Simonsen on Mon, Feb 2, 2009 at 10:26 AM

Sure, the Boss—and his dangerous crotch—rocked the Super Bowl this weekend, but that was the only New Jersey rock and roll going down. End Hits favorites The Gaslight Anthem brought "The '59 Sound" to Letterman and basically destroyed.

And while there were no fireworks, no sax solos, and no stupid referee throwing a yellow flag, these boys put one hell of a performance, proving they deserve every early Boss comparison coming their way. Can anybody else remember seeing Letterman get that excited about a band? My only small gripe would be that one song was not enough to tide me over until their April 13th show at Berbati's, which at two months away feels like forever.
