We love nyctaper. Their recordings are not just mere concert bootlegs, instead they archive live shows with high-end equipment and the approval of the artists themselves. The result are infinitely better than that one time I tried to record Oasis, on their Definitely Maybe tour, with a bulky hand held cassette player. What? I was 15, what did you expect?

Anyway, nyctaper was at Alela Diane's February 27th show at the Bowery Ballroom (opening for Blitzen Trapper), and they captured her entire set—which included a Fleetwood Mac cover—for your listening pleasure. The download even comes with fancy, and recording nerd-friendly, notes such as:

Neumann KM-150's (AK-50 Hypercardiod Capsules) > Apogee Minime >
digital coaxial > M-Audio Microtrack > 24bit 48kHz wav files > Soundforge
(set fades, slight level adjustments, downsample) > CD Wave 1.95 (tracking)

I have no clue what those words mean. Now back to listening to my muffled bootleg of "Cigarettes & Alcohol."
