Sleater-Kinney is No Rock and Roll Fun

Want to experience last night's rumored Sleater-Kinney reunion? Click here and then continue after the jump...

It did not happen.

While I'm sure we'll get an update from someone who was actually there—unlike myself, who has been locked away in his own personal Xanadu constructed entirely of pain medication and, well, copies of Xanadu: Olivia Newton John's rollerdisco masterwork (don't forget ELO, too!) from 1980—here's what I have to say.

While we hate to be the blog who blogged wolf (huh?), our gossipy sources were reputable, no one denied it, and it was actually the first blind item post we have ever been incorrect about. From DFA to Rachel Ray (sorry for rhyming those words that shall never be rhymed again), we have not been wrong before. Oh well, the show was for a great cause, and very sold out, too bad it also didn't happen to feature a Sleater-Kinney reunion.

This just in: Pavement reuniting at the Orange Julius inside the Lloyd Center Mall food court? Oh, never mind.

The show was fanatastic. Great lineup, and engaging, short sets. Too bad the reunion didn't happen, but for the sake of a great show --- it didn't need to.

It WAS a fantastic show, too bad most of us were caught up in breathless anticipation and forgot to pay full attention for much of the time. We had mentally let go of the dream aroun 12:30 a.m., then turned around and saw Janet Weiss by the sound set up and almost puked cuz it was REAL.

Then, it wasn't real, we were told to go home, bathed in the sorrow of realization.

Good show, though.

not surprised. I am betting they will reunite someday but the reading frenzy benefit was not going to be the impetus. carrie and janet were baffled by the buzz. I think corin solo is something to keep an eye on though.
