Even my mother—who hasn't bought a new record since Whitney Houston started hanging around "that" Bobby Brown (she has very good intuition)—knows these guys are indie rockers. How's that? Because their essential argument is over who's nicer.

Can you imagine Kid Rock and the svelte guy from Fall Out Boy (Mr. Ashlee Simpson) fighting over who's better mannered?

Anyway, does anyone out there have any stories about rock stars who overwhelmed you with their kindness? Better still: their douchebaggery? I'd really like to know.

The last two times Phantom Planet played the Hawthorne Theatre, they've given away Voodoo Doughnuts to fans, played little acoustic sets in the parking lot, and invited us to hang out with them at the Doug Fir after the show.

Shit, man, I could list dozens of the former and hundreds of the latter. How many ya want?
