We love us some Willy Vlautin around these parts. We love his boozy novels, we love his A Jockey's Christmas spoken word recording, we love his unauthorized Cats script (let's just say Mr. Mistoffelees drinks a lot and loses everything betting on the ponies), and most importantly, we love his band, Richmond Fontaine.

Well, good news for RF fans, because the band has just signed on the dotted line with local label Arena Rock. Richmond Fontaine has forever been known as one of those rare acts that is quite popular overseas (Europe loves 'em), yet still tragically underappreciated here in the States. Way to go, America. Here's hoping this new record (title TBA, out in September) helps change all that.
