We're saddened to report that "Quality" Dan Baldwin, a member of local band Power of County, was killed this weeked after being struck by a drunk driver. From the band's site:

Early Saturday morning, "Quality" Dan Baldwin was struck and killed by a drunk driver running a red light in SE Portland.

Daniel Warren Baldwin, 43, was a staple member of Power of County regionally, playing a variety of percussion instruments including the washboard and spoons.

Dan was on his motorcycle when he was hit by the driver of an SUV, and speculation is that he died instantly.

The suspect has been apprehended and is now in jail awaiting trial for at least three felony charges including manslaughter, hit and run, reckless driving, and DUI.

We have no information at this time about a service, but will be sure to post information as it becomes available.

Our condolences go out to Baldwin's family and friends.

There is no proff, as of yet, that Mr. Miller was intoxicated. He has been charged with DUII, but he has not been convicted of this crime. Please note that in the United States a man is innocent until proven guilty. The hit and run never occurred nor did the reckless driving. These are charges that the police will charge to anyone who has been in a fatal accident. More than likely the hit and run and reckless driving charges will be dropped. The court is now waiting for the toxicology report from the deceased Mr. Baldwin.

Proff? Please also note that in the bigger picture blame doesn't change the fact that many lives have been effected due to this accident (on both sides of the story). Lets try to focus on what postive aspects can be taken from this tragic event. Not all the petty details.

who are you? you must be a friend of this person charged with the crimes to be defending him. Please keep in mind all of the people who are forever affected by this persons bad judgement. Charges of DUI don't just happen. A great friend and amazing person is gone because of him.

No Kidding!!! Drunk drivers need to be put away - a life has been tragically taken and you are talking about "convicted..." come on, get a grip - maybe you need to loose a loved one in that same circumstance to understand. Are you somehow trying to indicate by the "toxicology report on mr baldwin" that somehow he is responsible for mr. millers running a red light? I hope not! How can you even insinuate this nonsense - please.
