Video Benoît Pioulard's Exdodus of Wool

Stereogum has posted this adorable video from Portlander Benoît Pioulard. For "A Woolgathering Exodus" (from the Kranky-released album, Temper), the animated video is clearly not "based" in Portland (despite the protagonist's beard and bicycle), since there are no lightning bugs here in Oregon. Right? I know nothing about local entomology, but I just assumed fireflies were not on the West Coast.
