Since we all need to get our shirtless dude quota out of the way early this week, here are great some snaps—taken by Benji Bilheimer—from a sweltering house party this weekend that featured electro-popster Jeffery Jerusalem and the Starfucker boys. It's claustrophobic, sweaty, and absolutely chaotic... we're just sad that no one invited us.

The secret show was rumored to be cancelled to keep the numbers down, and it still ended up being a party of epic proportion. The show was for the MySpace/Facebook incarnate Andrew Sloan, who's known around the local music scene for his ability to network between Portland, bands, and everyone else. This was his birthday/going away party which lasted until 4am when we waved goodbye as he drove off to the airport; moving to New Zealand...
The music was amazing, the crowd incredibly responsive. For fear of complaints from the neighbors the doors and windows were shut-tight as we packed as many people as you could imagine into the living room and bedrooms of this tiny house. Everyone from front to back was in motion, dancing, sweating, and swaying to the beats of Jeffery and Starfucker alike.
Jeffery Jerusalem, with his red LED tambourine, pumped out deep rhythms and remixes that got us all warmed up and going. Starfucker didn't disappoint with an amazing performance played while people crashed into their equipment. This included an errant hand hitting the turntable, skipping the record to a different song, which they simply played along to. Dancing around and eventually ripping off their shirts, the band played an amazingly energetic set, all while using an Oregon Trails card as a pick, go figure.
