Eux Autres Dropping Mad Songs

Posted by Mark Lore on Fri, Jul 24, 2009 at 11:25 AM

428e/1248463713-stangled_days.jpgI'm a sucker for a good pop song... and no this isn't leading up to another glowing preview to this weekend's PDX Pop Now! festival (although it is looking to be pretty effing great).

This is all about Eux Autres (pronounced OOZ-OH-TRA)—the yé-yé-loving bro/sis duo of Nicholas and Heather Larimer. They're one of my favorites in Portland, so it pains me slightly to see them leaving for two weeks to play some shows across the pond. But, because they love us, they've just posted a brand-spankin' new song on their MySpace called "Queen Turner."

The song will appear on the band's forthcoming four-song EP Strangled Days, available in the coming weeks from Rough Trade. But wait, there's more! The band also released the You're Alright 7-inch in June and recorded a version of Springsteen's "My Love Will Not Let You Down" for an upcoming tribute to The Boss. Listen to 'em all here. And wish them safe travels during their European jaunt, which oddly enough doesn't include any dates in France.
