Contest Win Tickets to Soulsavers!

Soulsavers are the dual production team of Rich Machin and Ian Glover and have blah, blah, blah... MARK FREAKIN' LANEGAN!!!!! Yes, it's true, Soulsavers are touring with the brooding mass of sad/drunken awesomeness that is Mark Lanegan—you might know him from Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age, The Gutter Twins, and my dreams—and we want to give you a pair of tickets to witness it all.

Soulsavers will be in town this coming Sunday (9/6) at the Wonder Ballroom, so comment below with why you think you deserve to attend this show—all posts must be in by 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday)—and our staff of mystery judges will pick the lucky winners. Also, this is a 21+ event, because as everyone knows, Mark Lanegan is not for the children.

I should win because I follow you on Twitter which is how I found out about this contest. I would just like to confirm the tweet as well, you are buying my devotion with free tickets for some band I've never heard of -- in all honesty, the description says, and I quote, "Also, this is a 21+ event, because as everyone knows, Mark Lanegan is not for the children." I'm positive I'll love the show and in addition to the loyalty I give the Mercury, Soulsavers will have a new fan. Thank you very much, Portland Mercury.

I believe I deserve to win because my boyfriend is staying here for a few months from Austin, Texas, and it's about time I found a way to shut him up about the musical superiority of Austin. What better way than free tickets to a great show?

I need to win - if I go I can drink for myself and the girlfriend, because she doesn't drink! it's perfect. Plus ever since I heard revival I can't go more than four days without listening to them, and I need my fix. Please please please please

I should win because I played this at work and within like three notes I'd quit working, thrown off my headset, and sunk into a morass of sad, contemplative emotion.

If I could only listen to one musician for the rest of my life, it would definitely be Mark Lanegan. I have seen him sing alone, with the Trees, with Greg Dulli, and with Queens of the Stone Age. I should win because I have already shelled out over $300 for concerts this summer, and I've done my part already to help stimulate the economy. Oh yeah, and Lanegan makes my soul ache, and that in itself is reason enough.
