The Portland Cello Project are apart to embark on a five week tour, but first they need to buy a touring vehicle suitable to their size, and large/delicate instruments. Oh, you all laughed when I said you should form the Portland Harmonica Project, well who's laughing now? Huh? Huh?
Anyway, to raise funds the band thought of sawing off a limb of one of the less important members and then holding a benefit show and posting a PayPal link—much like our forefathers did—but instead they came up with a more clever, and less painful, plan: subscriptions! These subscriptions start with a cheap $25 "Benefactor Subscription" that gets you an "Official Subscriber Membership Card," an invite to a secret “Subscriber Appreciation” concert this fall, and a free monthly digital download for the next year. Not bad.
But if you can have whatever you like—like T.I.—they have various plans customized just for you ($100 “Patron (On Ice)” subscription, $200 “Patron (Stacks on Deck)” subscription, $500 “Patron (Rubber Band Banks In Your Wallet)” subscription), plus the very un-hiphop sounding $1,000 “Executive Benefactor Angel Humanitarian” subscription. That last one will get you pretty much every thing in the world, plus a private concert by the band (*cough, perfect for weddings, cough*). You can find out the details on all the subscriptions here. Dig deep.
