After a nationwide search—coast to coast, LA to Chicago—local label Arena Rock Recording Co. (Richmond Fontaine, Talkdemonic) has signed soul icon Sade.
Oh, sorry, I mean, Saudade (pronounced "so dodgy"). While not quite a smooth operator, Saudade represents a bit of a departure for the local label, bringing them a more ambient, experimental act for their primarily indie roster. Saudade's second full-length, Lookouts' Journal will be out on the 8th of December, and celebrated with a show that night at Holocene.

Just because anyone CAN blog doesn't mean everyone SHOULD
Agreed. But unlike your commenting, which you do for free, I get paid good money to blog. It's great.
"That's right. I'm shallow and uninspired AND some sucker pays me for it. Not like you low lifes."

"Check out my clever thumbnail. I'm SO clever! And it's from an ultra hip comic, thus reflecting how even more clever I am. I am also bitter."

my friend read this and proposed something amazing and probably terrible: saudade + sade MASH-UP! so look for that in the future. thanks for the write-up, ezra.

This is the worst music review I have ever seen. Ezra, do the world a favor and actually put some effort into what you are writing. Maybe try listening to the music you are writing a review for. Some actual vested interest in the quality of your review would be nice. Why the muddled description of your interpretation of what the name of the band sounds like?
Starksboro, wtf are you talking about? How was this in any way presented as a music review?
The blurb is just an announcement that Saudade signed to Arena Rock. It really didn't need to be more than a few sentences long and personally I don't really give a shit that this dude signed to this label. Maybe after I check out the links I will care to know more, but in the mean time, keeping it brief and throwing in a corny Sade joke to keep it fun was just about right.
Carls is correct. This was not a music review at all, it was a news posting regarding the band's signing to ARRCO. If it was a review the postings would have a "Review" tag on the left of the headline. Thanks.
