If You Do Not Like Bruce Springsteen, You Are a "Pretentious Martian From Venus"

So says the late Joe Strummer, according to this fantastic note the former Clash frontman penned as an endorsement of the Boss. It was sent in 1997 to Mark Hagen, who produced Bruce Springsteen: A Secret History, and is proof that this world is worse off without Strummer around.

I might spend the rest of the day listening to Springsteen records and trying to dream up a phrase better than that first "Bruce looks great..." line. Though it's probably not possible. Jesus.

Fuck that, Springsteen is a joke (oh, you're SO fucking blue collar). I love Joe but he wasn't infallible.
