Scream, girls, scream!
The kids were out in full force last night to catch electro-popsters Passion Pit and Hockey at the Crystal Ballroom as part of the 94.7 "December to Remember" concert series.. Risking life, limb, and a Twilight-esque Hot Topic mall riot, our Candice Harbour was there to capture it all for you. Yes, you.

passion pit/hockey review by sparkle girl,,,,, OMG,, the girls in the photo shown were on the opposite side of the stage from me, and they were definitely screaming.Why? I cant figure out,,o.k. the singer for p.p. was cute. but had incredibly bad style ,, he and his band mates must all be sponsored by Keds,,I mean how else can you get outfitted with womens shoes in mens sizes for an entire band,,, bad style boys, , real bad,,except the drummer who wore normal shoes,, though they looked just as flat,,ew,,,, the drummer had a beautiful grey metal flake dw set ,that he played quite proficiently.,, the singer (i cant think of his name)sang in a constant falsetto voice,which began cracking by the end of the night,,,now dont get me wrong, i love their song "the reeling".. its been one of my favorites for months,, and i have been looking forward to this show for a long time,but when you play my favorite song don't have portions of it pre-programmed ,, play it outright,,,did i mention how the percussionist was unnecessary, or how i did not even notice the other keyboard player,,, or that the bassist/keyboardist was charismatically adequate,,overall the passion pit performance ,even though i kind of liked it ,was not great ,,just mediocre really,,,as for the Hockey portion of the show ,,, I will begin by saying I think their song on the radio does not suck,,, however,that did not come across in their live performance,,, I was right in front of the bass player and oh my gosh was he ever annoying,, How one can make a career out of kicking the floor and playing only two strings of a four stringed instrument i will never know!,Fear of learning more than three notes I think.... open e, plus two , ,the lackluster guitarist was unnoteworthy,, in other words ,I never noticed him doing anything but simple rhythms,, only the drummer and keyboardist had skill worth mentioning,,they actually played to each other ,,,, the bass player was completely inconsequential to the rhythm section thing,,,but the drummer looked like he was having a good time ,which i can appreciate,,he smiled alot and had perfect teeth,, though I will say the 70's were bad style then, and it's bad style now ,,oh so much cuter without the moustache guy,,,, Now the girl who was dancing next to me said that she thought the singer was so good looking and cute enough to marry ,,I thought he looked no older than 19 and had the frame of a pre-pubescent lad 7 years the younger,,, I had to disagree , he was not appealing to me , but then i am not 16,,,only the midway entertainer Anja Maria,who sang only two songs ,was any good,,her songs were short and cute just like her,she promptly exited at the end of her two songs,one of which she is gaining accolades for ,,bravo miss Maria....... so ,,,, yeah,,,,, the room was indeed full of screaming kids,,,, and thanks to the two super silly boys who partied down next to me most of the night and ended up at the voodoo two minutes after myself ,there was some actual entertainment had by yours truly ....sparkle girl..........(original review of this show posted in todays craigslist musicians section)

OMG, sparkle girl's review was okay, I guess. I mean, don't get me wrong, I will begin by saying that that one review sparkle girl wrote did not suck, but to be honest I found her p.p./hockey review kind of mediocre. The content was okay, I guess, but the style was bad, I mean c'mon girl, real bad. What's with all these commas? Was this review sponsored by the American Typesetter's Association or something? There's so many ellipses, and then she keeps doing this thing where she has three commas that kind of seem like they might be an ellipsis but they're really not, they're just three commas, which is either a typo or a grammatical clusterfuck of epic proportions. Oh well, there were some fun adjectives at least, even if the thing was a crazy-assed run-on sentence.....shirt boy..........(original review of this review posted in todays craigslist reviews section)
