Upcoming / Gossip (No, Not the Band) Short Notice: Atlas Sound Play Holocene Next Week

This just popped up on the calendar: next Tuesday, February 16, Atlas Sound will be performing at Holocene. The solo-ish project of Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, it appears to be the only show on the horizon for Atlas Sound, which leads me to suspect that Cox (who's no stranger to the Portland music scene, naming Privacy's Songs [Marriage Records] his favorite album of 2009) just hanging out in Portland for a while and quickly decided to throw together a show while he's here. At any rate, a nice surprise this morning; White Rainbow opens.

Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison, Tues Feb 16, 8:30 pm, $10

Atlas Sound is also playing a Sasquatch line-up announcement show up in Seattle with Surfer Blood at the Crocodile on February 15. But that also seem like a non-sequitur and I suspect your hangin-in-Portland conjecture may be right.
