Talented singer. Gifted songwriter. Heartbreaker. Raconteur.

Brendan Benson has lived a life far greater than any of us could ever fathom. But instead of hating on the longtime power-pop frontman, we're kind of smitten with the man. Currently taking a break from Raconteuring with Jack White, and on the road in support of last year's My Old, Familiar Friend, Benson will be serving up the hooks at the Doug Fir on Tuesday, February 16, and we want to give you a pair of free tickets.

I'd like to win those dang tickets because it's my wife's birthday that day and I haven't made any other plans like dinner reservations ('cause that whole "planning ahead" thing ain't the way I roll) and we don't really have any money for doing cool stuff like going to concerts.

Also (if you'll allow me the luxury of amending my plea), my wife loves The Raconteurs (though I think that's more because of Jack White that this Benson guy, but I think she'd still really like to go).

I've been a Brendan Benson fan for a long time, I liked him before he was in that band with the guy from White Stripes. Seeing him for free would mean I would have to choose between seeing him, Atlas Sound or Richard Thompson all on the same night. Make my life harder. Give me the tickets.

I'd love to win tix so I can take my friend who can't afford to attend (and I can afford to sport tonight due to unexpected bereavment costs and doc bills) so I'll have to "go it alone"???

Because I want to hear live the man who was cool enough to write songs with Tristan Prettyman last week, plus Nashville rocks not Cleveland, and I would rather hear this Nashville musician than that space alien Taylor Swift.

because i've liked/loved benson's guitar pop since before his collaboration with jack white, back when he was a jason falkner disciple... everyone else here just likes him cuz of the raconteurs... i've been a fan since before there was a bandwagon...

if i had the money, id be there in a second! im 2 hours away..... bored, havent much food, havent a job (not that i havent tried), and havent benson tickets :(
all i have to my name is my benson albums and a massive hangover.
plus, ive seen the raconteurs a few times and never had the chance for a solo benson show!!!! the man is a pop genius.
and im poised and ready to receive free brandon benson tickets!
