As you might be able to tell from the official promo photo above, Dragging an Ox through Water doesn't quite do things the same way as everyone else. The project of one Brian Mumford, he's gearing up to release a seven-inch on Portland's Stankhouse Records—who recently released a bevy of vinyl for their first anniversary—to be entitled "They're Gonna Send Me to the Dead Mumford Pencil Box Factory." You can hear "Among the Rock," one of the tunes from this seven-inch, right now by clicking here and downloading it. It's a distorted, magnetic pop song with a few left turns and an unexpected dance-beat breakdown halfway through.

Get it here, but hurry—the download comes down midnight Wednesday night. In the meantime, "They're Gonna Send Me to the Dead Mumford Pencil Box Factory" will celebrate its release at Valentine's on June 29.
