14 days until the 2010 PDX Pop Now! Festival kicks off. Until then, take a moment to get a little better acquainted with two of the acts that will be performing.

One of the nation's up-and-coming young bands, Hockey is constantly out and about, only playing a relative handful of Portland shows—such is the life of a Capitol/Virgin signee. Hey, nobody said being the next Franz Ferdinand was easy.

After the amicable departure of drummer Lane Barrington and keyboardist Christof Hendrickson, Hosannas is soldiering on, stripped down to the core of brothers Richard and Brandon Laws. Thankfully the musical and vocal chemistry the two share should keep the project a captivating one.

The PDX Pop Now! Festival takes place from July 30 — August 1 at Rotture (320 SE 2nd Ave, Free to all ages)
