PDX Pop Now Primer: Please Step Out of the Vehicle, Reporter

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Fri, Jul 23, 2010 at 8:02 AM

8 days until the 2010 PDX Pop Now! Festival kicks off. Until then, take a moment to get a little better acquainted with two of the acts that will be performing.

  • Chris Slaymaker

What seems to be the problem, officer? The problem is that Please Step Out of the Vehicle's Travis Wiggins has a one way ticket to Hawaii (then again, that sounds kind of nice) nine days after PPN. Who knows, this might be your final chance to witness the band's chaotic pop sound before Wiggins begins his new life of drinking daiquiris out of a coconut while surfing on a volcano. I've been to Hawaii, I know what it's like there.

Please Step Out of the Vehicle - "No More Wars, Let's Just Sit & Listen to Records!"
(This is an older song from PSOOTV, but it's still my favorite)

  • Jaclyn Campanaro

Reporter emerged from the remains of Wet Confetti lineup intact, but with a new name and a more condensed sound. Freshly inked to the Holocene Music label, the trio is releasing the bouncy Time Incredible next month. Also, their drummer owns Potato Champion, and thus smells like fries all the time. I'm so jealous.

The PDX Pop Now! Festival takes place from July 30—August 1 at Rotture (320 SE 2nd), free, all ages
