The Maldives: The Doe Bay Sessions

For a Pacific Northwest summer day as lovely as today, I present to you this beautiful video, filmed and produced by the folks behind Seattle music blog Sound on the Sound, as the first installation of The Doe Bay Sessions. The blog plans to unveil the videos they've filmed, featuring different performers from the this month's Doe Bay Festival on Orcas Island, every Tuesday from now until October, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. But for now, check out a few of the Maldives in the woods, bathed in that buttery, late afternoon light.

Also, you can see The Maldives play amongst some more logs (though these ones are soft and drunk—uh, I mean, sound—proof) at Doug Fir on September 24th. The band is certainly a Pacific Northwest staple and show their faces in Portland often, so I may be preaching to a knowledgable choir here, but for those who are agnostic/tone-deaf; not a live show to miss.
