News New Record Shop Alert: Clinton Street Record & Stereo

There is a new record store in town.

Clinton Street Record & Stereo has just opened its doors at 2510 SE Clinton (the former digs of Q Is For Choir) and will be selling hand-selected records by R. Jared White (DJ Name: DJ MaxxBass) and vintage stereo goodies from Mississippi Records' Aaron Heuberger (DJ Name: I'm not sure he has one). Geared at audiophiles with discerning taste (sadly you will have to go elsewhere for your NOW! That's What I Call Music CD compilations), the store even plans on having refurbished old school headphones, modified "with new guts." While open now Clinton Street Record & Stereo is throwing a proper grand opening shindig on October 1. There will be DJs, beverages, and most importantly, cookies.

Stop on by and buy something, okay?

I stumbled across a place called Quality Records a couple months ago on that same block, but it has since closed and had newspaper covering the windows. They too specialized in the Mississippi/Sublime Frequencies/obscure weirdness set of things.

Had an awesome experience here the other evening. Helped my buddy pick up a pair of reconed vintage Advent two-ways that sound absolutely phenomenal for a ridiculously reasonable $85. Finally a stereo store with receivers and speaker aimed at audiophiles who don't have an "audiophile" sized wallet. Fantastic selection of vinyl as well!
