While watching It's Kind of a Funny Story last week, I was struck about how well the film incorporated music into various scenes. Most notably there was Pink Mountaintops' excellent "Tourist In Your Town" wafting gently in the background of a scene and White Hinterland's haunting "Icarus" making an important appearance as well. Despite a few flaws—music not being one of them—the film is definitely worth seeing in theaters.

Speaking of White Hinterland, we didn't cover their show (with Typhoon) in the paper this week because we're total jerks. Oops. So the least we could do is mention it here: Typhoon, White Hinterland, and Youth at Mississippi Studios tonight, $10, 9 pm. You really should go.
