Let's Talk About... Edward Norton Interviews Bruce Springsteen, The Promise Box-Set Releases

As supplemental material to today's celebratory release of Bruce Springsteen's 3-CD, 3-DVD box-set, The Promise: The Lost Sessions of Darkness on the Edge of Town, I highly suggest you listen to the NPR broadcast of this interview actor Edward Norton conducted with The Boss himself. The interview took place at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September, right before the screening of The Promise documentary, and aired yesterday on NPR's Fresh Air.

Seriously, Norton's questions are fantastic—the focused, articulate intrigue of a dedicated fan/friend—and make full way for the spewing of Springsteen's unadulterated genius, as well as plenty of insight into a pivotal time in his music career. If you've ever loved anything remotely regarding music, this interview is a must-listen.

Also, you can give a listen to 15 of the 21 unreleased tracks you'll find on the discs of the box-set here, on NPR's First Listen (but only for today!). These songs were written, along with 70+ others, in the three years between Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town.
