Black Prairie Hit the Mean Streets of New York City

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Wed, Nov 17, 2010 at 9:30 AM

I was just in Los Angeles for a few days and within minutes upon arrival I heard the music of Black Prairie broadcast on KCRW. I just can't quit you, Portland music. But it's not just LA, New York City is sweet on the local bluegress ensemble, and here is footage of the band playing "River Of Jordan" on a New York sidewalk (not be confused with the video of them playing "Sidewalk of New York" in Jordan.

Now that the Decemberists have remerged with a new album, Black Prairie might be headed toward hibernation. If you miss them at the lovely Alberta Rose Theatre on December 3, it might be awhile until you get a chance to see them again.
