Blonde Redhead's newest full-length release, Penny Sparkle, is a sensible direction for a band that's sounding prettier with each take. While this heavily keys-reliant album may feel like less of a rush for those who miss the trio's days of torn-up guitars and quirky voice work, it's still damn pleasing for listeners who simply appreciate the group's knack for a sexy, dreamy collection of stand-alone songs.
Here's a taste, with the video for "Will There Be Stars," which was released on Nov. 4.
Catch the band live tonight with Olof Arnalds at 9 pm at the Roseland Theater, $22, all ages.
