According to Slicing Up Eyeballs, British 2 Tone ska band the Specials are tentatively planning a US tour in 2011 on which they will reportedly play their first two LPs—The Specials (1979) and More Specials (1980)—in their entirety. Exciting news, if it comes to pass.
These are boom times for artists recreating in live contexts albums from 1979: Gary Numan recently did it with The Pleasure Principle; Peter Hook's doing it with Unknown Pleasures; now the Specials are getting into the act. Maybe Talking Heads can get it together soon to launch a Fear of Music tour.
