The Decemberists' Live Webcast

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 9:24 AM

In a few hours the Decemberists will put on a live performance to be broadcast throughout the internets, I believe this what is known as a webcast. Starting at noon inside the Oregon Public Broadcasting studios the band will be interviewed by OPB Music's Jeremy Petersen and perform songs from their excellent new album, The King is Dead, which was released yesterday. After that, they'll answer the phones for a winter pledge drive and host a very special edition of Think Out Loud. Today's topic, jaywalking. Are you a Portlander who refuses to heed the instructions of the crossing sign? The phone lines are open right now...

Anyway, back to the webcast. Starting at noon you can stream the event right here. If you look closely enough, you just might spot Ned Lannamann and myself in the crowd—here is what we look like (this photo was taken at the End Hits Tropical Blog Retreat in Pensacola, FL).
