Since screening at last year's SXSW, Portland-based writer/director Matt McCormick's feature film debut Some Days Are Better Than Others has been steadily making festival rounds and recently got picked up by Palisades Tartan distribution for a theatrical release. The film is widely known for starring local musicians Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney/Portlandia) and James Mercer (the Shins/Broken Bells), but they're doing their work in front of the camera. The film's hauntingly poetic soundtrack is all courtesy of ambient composer Matthew Cooper, better known around here as Eluvium.

Now, a year after it's completion, the emotionally charged film score is getting it's own release via Temporary Residence, Eluvium's home label. A stirring collage of uniquely mesmerizing arrangenments, Some Days Are Better Than Others, presented under Cooper's own name, will be available April 26th, but here's the title track to get you all weepy and stuff right now.
