Gem Drops Loves Local Music, Hates Cancer

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Wed, Mar 9, 2011 at 11:02 AM

Know what sucks? The music of Kenny Chesney. But know what is worse than Kenny Chesney? Cancer (barely).

That being the case, Portland collective Dropping Gems have teamed up with a parade of local talent to release a 21-track compilation entitled Gem Drops. Primarily composed of Portland electronic and hiphop artists (with the likes of yuk., Devonwho, and Brownbear taking part), Gem Drops will be donating 100% of its revenue to the kind souls at the American Cancer Society. As of yesterday the compilation is now available for a "pay what you can" donation right here, or if you want to pony-up $15 or more, they'll get you a handmade version of the CD.

Either way you win and cancer loses.
