6th Annual Dolly Parton Tribute Night/Benefit For Siren Nation Festival

It's time again for the annual Dolly Parton Hoot Night at the Mission Theater (1624 NW Glisan), as imparted by local women's art collective Siren Nation. This show always proves to be a fun night of local ladies singing their hearts out for the love of Ms. Parton—who is arguably the best female country singer in history—as well as a great cause; ticket sales benefit the organization's Siren Nation Festival, a November celebration that highlights original work from many amazing women in music, art and film.

This year's tribute—happening this Saturday, June 11th—features performances from Calico Rose (Anita Robinson of Blue Giant/Viva Voce, Annalisa Tornfelt of Black Prarie, and Kate O'Brien of AgesandAges), Lauren Sheehan and Sara Jackson-Holman, to name just a few. For the full line-up, and to purchase advance tickets, check here.

And now, please watch this video of pre-caricature Dolly at her best, singing "I Couldn't Wait Forever" on Porter Wagoner's show in 1967. A hair-do of such astonishing heights should probably be attempted by at least one of the women performing at the show.
