Is Toby Keith a Built to Spill Fan?

As the Onion AV Club points out, the new Toby Keith single sounds a lot like a Built to Spill track from 1999. A lot.

Granted, the Built to Spill song in question—“Else,” from Keep It Like A Secret—isn't a throbbing boner of patriotism like Keith's “Made In America,” and everyone knows these colors don't run... from copyright violation. In case you doubt me, here is a sample lyric from the Keith song: "Got the red, white, and blue flyin' high on the farm/Semper fi tattooed on his left arm/Spends a little more at the store for a tag in the back that says U.S.A." Huh, that was subtle.

The eerie similarity between the two songs can be heard in the beginning of “Made In America," check it out:

LISTEN:

Built to Spill - "Else"

Toby Keith - “Made In America"

Oh Toby, you are so busted.
