Another week, another Mercury music section to ignore while you celebrate the launch of Spotify in the USA. But will it work on my Apple Newton?

Jail Weddings are from Los Angeles. Know what else is from Los Angeles? Gangs. I'm hip, I've totally seen Colors. Twice. The 10-piece rock and roll band might pretend they are musicians, but they are really a roving gang of roustabouts and no-goodniks with poor intentions.
LISTEN:

Jail Weddings - "I Thought You Were Someone I Knew"

We're smitten on mittens! Dirty Mittens, that is. The local pop act took their sweet time in delivering their first LP, but it was worth the wait.
LISTEN:

Dirty Mitten - "Row"

For a bunch of godless heshers making the devil's music, the boys of Spellcaster are pretty nice guys.
LISTEN:

Spellcaster - "Chainsaw Champion"

Are Liturgy bringing evolved black metal to the masses? Or just a bunch of metal tourists? Hey, don't ask me, Carole King's Tapestry‏ is the heaviest album I own.
LISTEN:

Liturgy - "High Gold"
