When discussing St. Vincent, it's customary to follow the mere mention of Annie Clark's nom de plume with either a girlish squeal, or a longing sigh. Perhaps both. Over the course of Marry Me (2007), Actor (2009), and the just-released Strange Mercy, Clark has cultivated a unique and wondrous sound that is entirely her own. I'll never miss an opportunity to post this song...

I loved her last album "Actor" I really loved watching her cover Big Black at the Our Band Could Be Your Life tribute show recently. But the clincher was her cover of Beatles' "Dig A Pony" I will have a great time. Please pick me!

Because obviously I don't play in the bar softball leauge. Or wet my pants about my obsession with Stephen Malkmus enough for the previous giveaway this week. So throw me a bone. I love Annie and would love to go to the show.

when i was 5, my rubber duck was the first to cross the finish line at Horn Pond. My family won a trip to disneyworld as a result. Since then--i can't even win a coin toss. I mean, sure, that's a pretty big win and all, but i'm starting to think that i used all my good luck up on splash mountain. Please help reverse the curse! Of equal importance, i heart st. vincent, the new album, and can confidently say her set at Doug Fir was one of the best performances i've seen. ever.

Well I do play in a bar softball league, wet my pants for Mister Malky, and love me some St. Vincent so I should be well qualified to fill this position.

Because I lost 57 Twitter followers when they did that "tweet St Vincent to get each track released" promotion. I leveraged my love for St. Vincent with my social media following, and only one prevailed. (I still love St. Vincent)

I wish I had an awesome reason, but all I've got is to say how motherfucking stoked I am for this show.
Plus the only other time I've been able to catch a St Vincent show was prefaced with 5 hours in a car that ended in screaming and tears which kind of soured the experience. Think of how awesome it would be to be a part of my renewed sense of optimism in regards to attending St. Vincent shows!

For St. Vincent, I would be willing, nay excited!, to brave the awkwardly large space, hordes of under 21s, and simultaneously expensive and mediocre beer that are part and parcel with a Crystal Ballroom show.

I should get the tickets because:
1. I invented a new word today: B'Jay (rhymes with bidet, or Australian, G'day) and it is a fancy and/or French BJ.
2. It's Columbo day and I love me some Peter Falk.
3. I'll use my food stamps to buy a bunch of lobsters and free them into the Willamette if I win

For one night the Crystal Ballroom will be named St. Vincent: The Multicultural Church of the Mesmerizing Annie Clark in which Portlanders gather to gaze and awe for a night of intrigue and romance.
