Peasant Magik Calls it a Day

Boutique Philly noise label Peasant Magik is closing up shop. Helmed by Pillars of Heaven main man Salvatore Giorgi, the label released over a hundred cassettes, LP's, and CD-R box sets in only a few years of operation. Known for their exquisite packaging and boundless appreciation of all things DIY, Peasant Magik has been bucking the trend from the very beginning. Without this label, we would be without a document of the best outsider music America had to offer from the now-fading renaissance of noise music we witnessed this past decade. With releases from the best of loner drone and metal (Ajilvsga, One Master), maximalist noise (White Dwarf Spiral, Sun Stabbed), acousmatic (Helm, Caboladies), and psychedelic ambient music (Expo 70, Sean McCann), Peasant Magik is sure to be noted in wikihistory alongside their fellows Amphetamine Reptile and Turgid Animal as one of the most prolific producers of fringe, early 21st century music.

So, let us all head over to their online storefront and purchase discounted goods in mourning. Sweet, auspicious mourning.
