Into the Woods Goes to Occupy's Front Line

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 9:58 AM

Into the Woods has been Twitterblasting* members of the media this morning with this video shot at the Occupy Portland eviction at SW Main and 4th on Sunday. Michael "Griff" Griffith, keyboardist for Archers, performs a song on solo acoustic guitar as chaos seems to erupt around him. There's crowd noise, police noise, yelling, chanting—all of which would make a filming/recording session a nightmare, except that in this case capturing them all, along with Griffith's music, is exactly the point. It's an audacious stunt which results in a nervy performance, and the result is a fascinating clip.

* everyone, it seems, except the Mercury :(
