Everything's coming up Mangum!

Hot on the heels of the Coachella announcement and rumors of a pair of Seattle dates—plus the recent release of that comprehensive Neutral Milk Hotel vinyl box set—it has been announced that Jeff Mangum will be playing two nights here in Portland! Yes, that Jeff Mangum, who you have been listening to obsessively for well over a decade now, under the band name Neutral Milk Hotel; that Jeff Mangum, who has run directly away from the spotlight at the same time as his magnum opus, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, gains esteem with each passing year. The elusive and rarely performing Mangum seems to have turned a corner, shaping up with what looks to be a busy and very public 2012. He stops by the Crystal Ballroom on Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at noon. It will be will call only, to avoid scalpers.
