Hear the New Horse Feathers Song, Won't You?

Feels like forever since rambling country folk quartet Horse Feathers released their last proper album (it was two years ago in fact), so the news that the group is due to release their new LP, Cynic's New Year, two months from today is most welcome. Even better, the band has offered up the record's first new single, "Fit Against the Country," for our listening pleasure. Highlighted by a bevy of banjos and violins swirling around singer Justin Ringle, the rustic tune is carried by a simple eloquent melody to unexpected heights. If this track is any indication, it sounds like Horse Feathers worked this new album to the bone, and I can't wait to hear what's next. Cynic's New Year is out April 17 on Kill Rock Stars.
